INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE WITH INJECTION AMOUNT CONTROL
Dual-fuel internal combustion engine, comprising: - a control device, - at least one combustion chamber, - at least one gas supply device for supplying a gaseous fuel to the at least one combustion chamber, and - at least one injector controllable by the control device via an actuator control signal for injecting liquid fuel into the at least one combustion chamber, wherein the control device, in a pilot operating mode of the internal combustion engine, controls via the actuator control signal an opening of the needle of the injector in the ballistic range of the needle, and wherein an algorithm is stored in the control device which receives as input variables at least the actuator control signal (u(t)) and calculates a position of the needle (6) via an injector model and compares this with a needle position setpoint value (z_ref), and depending on the result of the comparison corrects the actuator control signal (u(t)), as well as a method for operating such an internal combustion engine and an injector of such an internal combustion engine.
