A method for generating sounds indicative of the operation of a motor vehicle with electric propulsion comprising: determining a characteristic signal relative to the detection of quantities indicative of an operation of first and second electric motors configured to rotate respective wheels aligned along an axis; generating a first sound signal having a first frequency content determined by a function of a frequency content of the characteristic signal; verifying an operating condition determined by a difference between first and second motor revolution numbers less than or equal to a threshold; emitting sounds reproducing the first sound signal when said operating condition is verified; or otherwise substituting the first sound signal with a second sound signal and emitting sounds reproducing the second sound signal. The second sound signal has a second frequency content based on the motor revolution numbers and is generated from a sound signal indicative of said operating condition.
