INTERMEDIATE HEAT STORAGE

An apparatus configured for intermediate heat energy storage from a large engine, the apparatus comprising: a container comprising a heat storage medium, wherein the heat storage medium is capable of reversibly absorbing, storing, and releasing heat energy from the large engine; means to transfer, at a first time, a first amount of heat energy from the large engine to the heat storage medium; and means to supply, at a second time, a second amount of heat energy from the heat storage medium for reuse, in particular in a carbon capture (OCC) device.
