The method further includes determining a probability that the target vehicle accelerated from zero velocity at a position within a predefined distance from the vehicle. The method further includes determining whether the probability exceeds a predefined threshold. The method further includes predicting a trajectory of the target vehicle by assuming that heading of the target vehicle is zero degrees relative to the vehicle, based on determining that the probability exceeds the predefined threshold.
