The present disclosure relates to a cathode active material, a battery, and a method for producing a cathode active material. The cathode active material includes: an olivine phosphate compound (1) including at least one selected from the group consisting of lithium manganese phosphate and lithium manganese iron phosphate; and a coating (5) that covers at least part of a surface of the cathode active material, and contains carbon and iron.
