The mirror assembly comprises: a base assembly, a base bracket, a base cover coupled to the base bracket and at least partially surrounding the base bracket, and a cover having an opening and attached to the base bracket. The mirror assembly further comprises a mirror head rotatably attached to the first end of the base assembly, and rotatable from a parking position to a driving position. The shape and size of the opening is such that at least 50% of the opening, is concealed by the mirror head, both in its parking and driving positions. The rear-view mirror assembly has an anti-finger pinch feature, and additionally it can be manufactured in a simplified manner and at a reduced cost compared with conventional designs.",
