The present invention relates to a secondary battery and a method for manufacturing the same, The secondary battery according to an aspect of the present invention may comprise a cap comprising a first surface, a second surface perpendicular to or inclined to the first surface, and a corner connecting the first surface to the second surface; an electrode assembly, one side of which is covered by the cap; and an exterior film comprising a sheet-shaped accommodation part surrounding the electrode assembly in a circumferential direction, first and second extension parts extending respectively from one edge and the other edge of the accommodation part, and a coupling part coupling the first and second extension parts to each other. The coupling part may be disposed correspondingly to the corner.
