A battery module according to an embodiment of the present disclosure may include a module housing having an accommodation space, and a plurality of pouch-type battery cells placed horizontally and stacked in a thickness direction within the accommodation space, wherein the battery cell includes a body portion accommodating an electrode assembly, and a sealing portion extended from an edge of the body portion, at least part of the sealing portion being folded down to prevent moisture buildup.
