The present invention relates to a method for detecting a defect in thermal interface between a battery and its thermal conditioning system. The method includes a step of thermal conditioning of the battery by using the conditioning system. It also includes, at the end of the conditioning step, a step of measuring a temperature value that is representative of the temperature of the battery. It also includes a step of estimating, by using a model of thermal exchanges between the battery and the conditioning system, an expected temperature of the battery at the end of the conditioning step. It also includes a step of comparing the measured temperature and the estimated temperature. It also includes, if the difference between the measured temperature and the estimated temperature exceeds a predetermined threshold, a step of storing or making available information signaling the exceeding. Application: electric or hybrid vehicles, aeronautics.
