According to the invention, the assistance setpoint (C3) is provided by a traction machine (19) when it is positive, and when it is negative, the assistance setpoint (C3) imposes an energy recovery limit on a recovery setpoint (CR) that can be provided at least by an electrical generator (13) coupled to the internal combustion engine (11). The invention applies to hybrid vehicles comprising motorization equipment capable of compensating for a constraint applied to the setpoint of the internal combustion engine (11).",
