Provided is a negative electrode material of a lithium ion secondary battery. The negative electrode material includes a carbon coating layer and a core layer. The core layer includes lithium polysilicate and silicon oxide, and silicon is uniformly embedded in the lithium polysilicate and/or in the silicon oxide.
