Underground compressed air storage, built-up especially in the abandoned mine shaft, constituting a vertical, cylindrical underground tank, preferably a mine shaft, characterized by the fact that it contains a pressure tank with a lining (6) and a bottom (13), tightly closed from above with a lid (5) with a built-in supply port with a shut-off valve (2) through which high temperature air is supplied and shut-off valve (1) through which a high temperature air is discharged and where cylindrical elements (7) are suspended coaxially in vertical position on the upright supports (11), closed from the top with a lid (3), from the bottom with endplate with pressure flaps (12) and externally covered with thermal insulation made of glass or ceramic fibers (8) inside filled with accumulative insert (9).
