Supplementary lighting system for a warning bar with an LED perforated matrix display (10), wherein the perforated matrix display (10) is provided on a light exit side with a plurality of light exit openings (12), comprising at least one circuit board (16) that can be placed on at least one section of the light exit side of the perforated matrix display (10), with a number of LEDs (20), wherein the circuit board (16) has light exit openings (18) which are arranged such that they coincide with light exit openings (12) of the perforated matrix display (10), and wherein the LEDs (20) are arranged on the side of the circuit board (16) facing away from the light exit side of the perforated matrix display (10) in the intended mounted state of the circuit board (16) on the perforated matrix display (10), between light exit openings (18).
