WHEEL END ASSEMBLY FOR A TIRE INFLATION SYSTEM

A wheel end assembly (12) includes a spindle(16) having a passage (22) formed therein. The wheel end assembly (12) also includes a hub cap assembly (10). The hub cap assembly (10) has an inner housing (52) and an outer housing (54). The inner housing (52) and outer housing (54) are in fluid communication via an air passage. An air spindle (34) has an inboard portion and an outboard portion. The inboard portion is disposed in the spindle (16) and the outboard portion is disposed in the inner housing (52). Also, the air spindle (34) has a fluid passage (36). The fluid passage (36) is in fluid communication with the passage (22) formed in the spindle (16) and the air passage (122) formed in the hub cap assembly (10). A rotary air seal (62) is disposed around the air spindle (34). A rotary oil seal (60) is disposed around the air spindle (34) and is spaced apart from the rotary air seal (62).
