The invention relates to a tilling equipment (1), comprising a chassis (10) carrying at least one soil working tool (15), a gearbox (33) and an engine (17) driving in rotation said tool (15) by means of said gearbox (33) and a transmission belt (18) mounted loosely on two pulleys (16, 19), one connected to the driving shaft of said engine (17) and the other connected to said gearbox (33), the clutch being realized by application against said belt (18) of tensioning means (40, 401) operable by a control lever (121) disposed on a handle (12) of the guide bar (11) of said equipment (1). According to the invention, said equipment (1) comprises a protective cover (20) of said belt (18), having first fastening means (171, 172) with said engine (17) and second fastening means (331, 332) with said gearbox (33), said first and second fastening means defining a center distance (E) between said engine (17) and said gearbox (33) during assembly of said engine (17) and said gearbox (33) on the chassis (10).
