APPARATUS FOR OPENING AND CLOSING A LID OF A VEHICLE

An apparatus () for opening and closing a lid (lid body) of a vehicle includes a linearly-movable shaft () supported by a housing () such that the shaft () is linearly movable along, and nonrotatable around, an axial center (X); and a rotary shaft () supported by the linearly-movable shaft () such that it is linearly movable along and rotatable around the axial center (X). A stopper () is supported by the housing () and is displaceable between a blocking position at which the stopper () prohibits the linearly-movable shaft () from moving from a second position to a first position, and a nonblocking position at which the stopper () is separated from the linearly-movable shaft (). The stopper () is biased toward the blocking position and displaces to the nonblocking position in response to a manual opening operation for displacing the lid to the open position.
