DRIVEN AXLE ASSEMBLY
DRIVE
February 15, 2017
A drivable axle assembly comprises two half-shafts for driving a respective wheel hub as well as a differential gear provided between the half-shafts for distributing a drive torque of an engine to the two half-shafts, wherein the differential gear has an input for receiving the drive torque and two outputs for outputting the drive torque to the respective half-shaft. The half-shafts have a respective clutch as well as a respective reduction gear with an input element and an output element, which translates a rotational speed of the output element relative to the input element to a lower speed. In this regard, the respective clutch is arranged such that the respective wheel hub can be selectively connected to or disconnected from the respective output of the differential gear in a drive-effective manner by means of the respective clutch.
