APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING AN ELECTRO-PNEUMATIC LEVELING VALVE
DRIVE
February 15, 2017
An apparatus for controlling an electro-pneumatic leveling valve (50) by a control signal (60) is characterized by a generator module (110). The leveling valve (50) comprises a magnet (55) with an armature (57), wherein in response of receiving the control signal (60) the armature (57) is movable between a first position (51) to exhaust the leveling valve (50) and a second position (52) to pressurize the leveling valve (50). The generator module (110) is configured to generate a pulse width modulated (PWM) signal as the control signal (60) and to transmit the PWM signal to the magnet (50), wherein the PWM signal comprises a first signal level (61) driving the armature (57) in the first position (51) and a second signal level (62) driving the armature (57) in the second position (52) and a duty cycle (T) defining a duration of the first signal level (61) to control a pneumatic flow through the leveling valve (50).
