A pneumatic tire (10) includes: a zigzag circumferential direction groove (22) that is formed in a tread portion (16) by alternating and continuously formed first inclined portions (24) and second inclined portions (26), the first inclined portions (24) being inclined with respect to a tire circumferential direction and the second inclined portions (26) being inclined in the opposite direction to the first inclined portions (24) with respect to the tire circumferential direction; first lug grooves (30) that are inclined in the same direction as the first inclined portions (24) with respect to the tire circumferential direction and that merge with the first inclined portions (24); and second lug grooves (32) that are inclined in the opposite direction to the first inclined portions (24) with respect to the tire circumferential direction and that intersect the first inclined portions (24).
