SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR AIRCRAFT BRAKING AND TAXIING
DRIVE
January 25, 2017
Systems and methods are disclosed for aircraft braking and taxiing systems (100). In this regard, a system may comprise an electric motor (104) and a clutch (118). The electric motor (104) may include a first output shaft (106) and a second output shaft (108). The clutch (118) may selectively engage the motor (104) to at least one of a driver transmission (110) and a brake transmission (120), wherein, in response to engagement with the driver transmission (110), the electric motor (104) drives, exclusively, an aircraft wheel (116) via the first output shaft (106), wherein, in response to engagement with the brake transmission (120), the electric motor (104) drives, exclusively, a brake clamping system via the second output shaft (108) to apply force to an aircraft brake disk stack.
