In order for an operator from an operator's cabin (20) of the road construction machines to better observe the production process, a seat console (24) is movably mounted transversely to a direction of movement (13) of the road construction machine. For this purpose, the seat console (24) has a linear guide system. With these typically open seat consoles (24), in particular the mechanical components, such as rods (32) and/or bearings (34), are especially susceptible to contamination and furthermore pose an injury hazard. The application provides a road construction machine and a seat console (24) for a road construction machine in which the seat console (24) is safely and reliably movable. For this purpose, the at least one seat console (24) has on an underside (31) a rod (32) which is linearly displaceable transversely to the direction of movement (13) in at least one bearing (34) attached to a chassis (19).",
