DIRECT INJECTION COMBUSTION ENGINE OF SELF-IGNITION TYPE
DRIVE
January 11, 2017
The invention relates to a direct-injection compression-ignition internal combustion engine that can be operated with a fuel having a low ignition point and with a fuel having a higher ignition point, comprising at least one injector (15) for injecting fuel, a high-pressure accumulator (9) for the fuel, a high-pressure pump (5) and a metering unit (6), and with an electronic control system in which different control parameters for operation with the fuel having a low ignition point and operation with the fuel having a higher ignition point are stored. According to the invention, the start pressure (25) is stored in the electronic control system, which must be reached in the high-pressure accumulator (9) in order for start release to occur, wherein the start pressure (25) for the fuel having the higher ignition point is increased by more than 30 % compared to the fuel having the low ignition point.
