A commercial vehicle according to the invention comprises a superstructure that includes a cargo compartment (14) for shipments. An automatic stowage system (17) is arranged in the cargo compartment (14) which, depending on a control signal, transports a shipment from a storage location to a handover device (24) or from the handover device (24) to a storage location in the cargo compartment (14). The handover device (24) is part of a handover station (16) which is connected to the commercial vehicle (1) and has an identification device (25) for receiving an identification code assigned to a user (N). A control device (26) on the commercial vehicle (N) issues a control signal to the stowage system (17) depending on the respective identification code, which transports a shipment associated with the identification code to the handover device (24) or a shipment ready at the handover device (24) to a storage location in the cargo compartment (14). The invention also relates to a method based on such a vehicle. With the invention, the shipping and delivery of shipments can be simplified cost-effectively.
