A support device attachable to a trailer drawbar, with an inner tube (2) axially adjustably guided in an outer tube (1), which carries a support element (5), such as a wheel, pivotable by means of a folding mechanism from a support position into a non-use position, wherein the folding mechanism comprises a locking device (8), with which the support element (5) is locked in the pivoted support position relative to the inner tube (2), wherein a braking element (14) is arranged in the inner tube (2), which in the support position of the support element (5) engages in a braking manner with the locking device (8) and in the non-use position of the support element (5) is disengaged.
