The delivery system including a reciprocating pressure pump having an inlet valve connected to a liquid supply line, with the reciprocating pump being adapted to take in the liquid from the liquid supply line through the inlet valve and deliver it under pressure through an outlet valve. The liquid supply line has, at least an elongate part with an initial cross sectional shape which differs from a circular cross section. The elongate part is adapted to change its cross sectional shape and area to a shape more closely approximating a circular cross section when liquid present therein is subjected to pressure peaks resulting from operation of the reciprocating pressure pump and especially of the inlet valve thereof. A liquid supply line and a liquid return line are also claimed.",
