An air conditioner for a motor vehicle is provided. The air conditioner contains at least the following components: a fresh air channel and a recirculating air channel, as well as a downstream mixed air channel, a fan for conveying the mixed air in the mixed air channel, an evaporator for cooling the mixed air in the mixed air channel, a heater for heating the mixed air in the mixed air channel, a dehumidifier for dehumidifying recirculated air in the recirculating air channel, and at least one filter downstream of the dehumidifier in the mixed air channel.
