Road vehicle comprising: a first control unit configured to monitor a plurality of cells of the first storage system so as to detect any thermal events and to periodically awaken when the road vehicle is in a sleep mode; and/or a second control unit, different from the first control unit, which is configured to operate when the road vehicle is in a sleep mode and to monitor the plurality of cells of the first storage system so as to detect any thermal events; the vehicle comprises an alarm system, which comprises a third control unit which is configured, following a detection of thermal event, to actuate at least part of a plurality of electrical loads so as to alert at least the surroundings of the road vehicle of the occurring thermal event.
