DRIVE
June 18, 2026
A controller for controlling an electric machine used to propel and/or brake an electric vehicle. The controller is configured to obtain an indication of a desire to use the electric machine to brake the vehicle and, in response to obtaining the indication, and as part of controlling the electric machine, intentionally increase core magnetization losses in the electric machine. Provided is also a laminated stator and/or rotor for an electric machine, wherein an insulation material of the stator and/or rotor is selected to have an electric conductivity that increases with frequency. A corresponding vehicle, method, computer program (product) and computer-readable storage medium are also provided.
