At least one illumination parameter used in generating the light signal is selected as a function of a variable quantity such that the light signal is generated with an illumination parameter corresponding to a first illumination parameter for a first value of the quantity and with an illumination parameter corresponding to a second illumination parameter for a second value of the quantity.
