A motor vehicle having a plurality of operating function indicator lights, each of which is associated with one of a plurality of operating light functions and provided on the exterior of the motor vehicle, and a control unit for controlling the operation of the operating function indicator lights is provided, wherein the control unit is designed to control at least one of the operating function indicator lights according to a control sequence when the motor vehicle is stationary and upon presentation of a request signal, wherein the control unit is configured to select the at least one operating function indicator light to be operated according to the control sequence on the basis of selection information describing user input.
