A side door for a motor vehicle has coupling means configured to couple the side door to a door frame at an access opening to provide side access to a passenger compartment, such that the side door is movable between open and closed positions to expose and close the access opening, respectively. The door includes a structural body arranged to face the passenger compartment in the closed position, and a covering sheet fixed to the structural body to cover it externally. The covering sheet forms a slot configured to define a first longitudinal duct for channeling aerodynamic flow.
