An apparatus for diagnosing a battery includes a voltage measuring unit configured to measure voltages of a plurality of batteries, and a control unit configured to calculate a voltage deviation of the plurality of batteries, calculate a voltage deviation change amount of each of the plurality of batteries, and diagnose a state of each of the plurality of batteries based on the voltage deviation change amount and a calculation period of the voltage deviation change amount.
