Device (13; 30; 50) for stowing a bulky and/or elongated object (25, 26, 27) in a passenger compartment (1) of a public transport vehicle, comprising - a mounting area (14; 31; 51), by which the device can be fastened to a wall (3) of the vehicle, and which has at least a first fastening means (16a, 16b, 16c, 16d) for fastening the device to the wall, - a base area (17; 32; 52) projecting from the mounting area (14; 31; 51), which is connected to the mounting area, and on which the object (25, 26, 27) can be placed, - at least one support element (24; 37; 57) arranged above the base area for supporting the object (25, 26, 27).
