While the moving (12), an acquiring of a movement profile (31) of the moving (12) by a rotational position encoder (5) for the rotation axis (2), and a sensing of an acceleration (18,19) due to dynamics of the moving (12) by the accelerometer (9) as accelerometer readings (18) is done. Thereof, a deriving at least one calibration parameter (21,22) for the accelerometer readings (18) based on the movement profile (31), the known position (6) and the corresponding accelerometer readings (18), and a providing of the calibrated leveling (23) to the surveying instrument (1) by applying the calibration parameter (21,22) to the accelerometer readings (18) is established.",
