NONAQUEOUS ELECTROLYTE SECONDARY BATTERY

This nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery includes a winding-type electrode group (14) which comprises a positive electrode plate and a negative electrode plate (12), and tape (40, 41) adhered on the outermost peripheral surface of the electrode group. A current collector of the negative electrode plate is exposed in at least part of the outermost peripheral surface of the electrode group in the winding direction, and the current collector contacts a case body. The tape (40, 41) comprises a base material layer and an adhesive layer arranged continuously in the winding direction on the inner surface of the wound base material layer. Dividing the region of the tape (40, 41), seen from the wound inner surface, into first regions (42) configured from the base material layer and second regions (43) configured from the base material layer and the adhesive layer, in the winding axial direction of the electrode group (14), the first regions (42) are arranged adjacent to a second region (43) in at least the center end of the electrode group on the both ends of the tape (40, 41).
