Brake pad (6) for a fixed-caliper brake, comprising at least one backing plate (11) and a friction material (10) applied to a central section (12) of the backing plate (11), wherein the backing plate (11) has substantially opposite legs (15, 16) each pointing laterally in the circumferential direction for supporting circumferential forces on a counter-body. Each inlet-side leg (15, 16) is formed with a hook shape open radially outward and serves at least partially for positive engagement on the counter-body.
