Transmission (1) for a motor vehicle, wherein the transmission (1) has a drive shaft (3), an output shaft (4), an electric machine (2) with a rotationally fixed stator (9) and a rotatable rotor (11), a main gear set (HRS) with three planetary gear sets (P1, P2, P3), a pre-transmission gear set (VRS), and five shift elements (A, B, C, D, E), wherein the three planetary gear sets (P1, P2, P3) of the main gear set (HRS) together have five shafts (W1, W2, W3, W4, W5) designated in the order of their speed sequence as first, second, third, fourth and fifth shafts, wherein the drive shaft (3) is connectable via the first shift element (A) to the fifth shaft (W5), via the fifth shift element (E) to the third shaft (W3) and via the second shift element (B) to the rotor (11), wherein the output shaft (4) is permanently connected to the fourth shaft (W4), wherein by closing the third shift element (C) the second shaft (W2) can be rotationally fixed, wherein by closing the fourth shift element (D) the third shaft (W3) can be rotationally fixed, wherein the rotor (11) is connected to a first element (E14) of the pre-transmission gear set (VRS) and the first shaft (W1) is connected to a second element (E24) of the pre-transmission gear set (VRS), wherein the pre-transmission gear set (VRS) is configured to provide a fixed gear ratio between its first element (E14) and its second element (E24).
