The present invention relates to a motor vehicle component with a housing made from at least two fiber-reinforced composite shell elements, wherein the fiber-reinforced composite shell elements each have a flange, wherein opposing flanges of the respective fiber-reinforced composite shell are folded into a seam and form the housing. It is the object of the present invention to provide a motor vehicle component which is easier to manufacture and has high compressive strength.
