METHOD FOR RENDERING MAP SCREEN FROM MAP DATA AND DATA PROCESSING APPARATUS PERFORMING THE SAME

In one example, the present invention relates to a method for providing a display device with a map screen by pre-rendering the map screen for a predicted route on which the moving means is predicted to travel, and a data processing apparatus performing the same. According to an aspect of the present invention, there is provided a method for rendering a map screen from map data, the method including: (a) a step of obtaining map data including a plurality of pieces of road segment information by a data processing system; (b) a step of determining, by the data processing system, whether a pre-rendering process of a map screen is performed for a predicted traveling route on which the moving means is predicted to travel in the future; (c) a step of rendering a map screen corresponding to a current position of the moving means and providing the display device with the map screen when it is determined that the data processing system does not perform the pre-rendering process; (d) a step of performing a process of specifying an predicted traveling route of the moving means and the pre-rendering process of the map screen for the specific predicted traveling route when it is determined that the data processing system performs the pre-rendering process; (e) a step of providing the display device with a portion of the map screen corresponding to the current position of the moving means by the data processing system, for the predicted traveling route of the moving means which is pre-rendered, while a predetermined pre-rendering screen providing condition is satisfied, after the pre-rendering process of the map screen for the predicted traveling route of the moving means is performed; and (f) a step of repeating the steps (b) to (e).
