TRANSPORT REFRIGERATION SYSTEM

A transportation refrigeration system (200) including: a transportation refrigeration unit (22) including a compressor (32), one or more valves, and a controller; an energy storage device (24) configured to provide electrical power to the transportation refrigeration unit (22); and an intelligent charging connector (28) in electrical communication with the energy storage device (24) and/or the transportation refrigeration unit (22). The intelligent charging connector (28) is connectable to a power grid (30) and is configured to selectively control a provision of electrical power to the transportation refrigeration unit (22) from the energy storage device (24) and/or the power grid (30) by transitioning the provision of electrical power to the transportation refrigeration unit (22) from being supplied by the energy storage device (24) or the power grid (30) in response to the intelligent charging connector (28) being connected to the power grid (30) or in conjunction with the intelligent charging connector (28) being disconnected from the power grid (30), respectively.
