METHOD FOR OPERATING A HEADLAMP DEVICE AND HEADLAMP DEVICE OF A MOTOR VEHICLE

The invention relates to a method for operating a headlight device (1) for a motor vehicle (4), wherein the headlight device (1) comprises a plurality of light segments (A ij , A' ij ) each with an adjustable number of light points (2) for illuminating different areas (B ij , B' ij ) of an environment (3) of the motor vehicle (4), comprising providing an adjustment parameter, adjusting the number of light points (2) belonging to the respective light segments (A) and thus jointly switched for activating or deactivating the light segment (A ij , A' ij ) in dependence on the adjustment parameter by the headlight device (1), in order to provide information about a functionality of the headlight device (1) for a motor vehicle (4) with a plurality of light segments (A ij , A' ij ) for illuminating respective different areas (B ij , B' ij ) of the environment (3) of the motor vehicle (4) in an intuitive and safe manner.
