The invention relates to a keying device for the correct mounting of an asymmetric anti-torque rod in the cradle of a vehicle. The anti-torque rod (10) comprises an insert (12) intended to be inserted between two plates (21, 22) forming a yoke of the cradle, one of the two plates (21) having a leading edge (21A) more advanced than the leading edge (22A) of the other plate (22) according to the insertion direction of the anti-torque rod into the yoke. The keying device is constituted by a counter-form (40), which is in relief from the external surface of the insert (12), such that said counter-form (40) comes into contact with the plate (21) of more advanced leading edge when the anti-torque rod (10) is in the wrong orientation, which makes incorrect mounting of the anti-torque rod (10) in the cradle (20) impossible.
