Around the end faces (16, 17, 18, 19) surrounding the filter cartridge (12), a side band (28) is arranged circumferentially and applied over a surface area. On an outer side of the side band (28), a circumferential seal (32) is arranged. The side band (28) has a flap (36) projecting over the clean side (50) of the filter cartridge (12), which flap (36) can be arranged in a V-shaped folded-back manner over the seal (32) at the end faces (16, 17, 18, 19).
