A matching network (108) comprising passive electronic components, such as capacitors and inductors, is in series with and intermediate to the first coil (102) and the second coil (104). This results in a resonator (100) having a balanced circuit topology. The bifurcated resonator (100) may be used as a source resonator (14) and/or capture resonator (18) in a wireless power transfer system (10).",
