It is an object to provide an engine device that includes an exhaust gas purification device and can be efficiently arranged in an engine installation space. An engine 1 includes an exhaust gas purification device 2 for treating exhaust gas. The exhaust gas purification device 2 is arranged on the upper surface side of the engine 1. Regarding structure in which an exhaust throttle device 65 is provided in an installation portion of an exhaust manifold 7 on one side of the engine 1, the exhaust throttle device 65 is inclined and disposed with respect to the right side surface of the engine 1] in a plan view, and a gap 8a is formed between the right side surface of a head cover 8 and the inner side surface of the exhaust throttle device 65.
