The gap-filling device (10) comprises a ramp (14) movable in a horizontal direction between a retracted position in a housing (16) formed under a floor of the railway vehicle, and a deployed position outside said housing (16). The ramp (14) comprises an upper surface (22) accessible in the deployed position. The ramp (14) comprises lateral edges (28), extending over at least part of the length of the ramp (14), each movable between a first position, in which this lateral edge (28) extends vertically projecting from the upper surface (22) of the ramp (14) to a first height, and a second position, in which the lateral edge (28) extends to a second height lower than the first height.
