"textContent": "A method is described for operating a tire pressure monitoring system for vehicles having wheels which are equipped with a device designated as wheel electronics, which comprises - a pressure sensor for measuring tire pressure, - at least one further sensor for measuring at least one further measured variable, - an electronic control unit, - a transmitter and - an electronic power source and measured values supplied by the sensors and/or variables derived therefrom and optionally data as well as an identifier individualizing the respective wheel electronics in the form of digital data are transmitted wirelessly to a receiver mounted in or on the vehicle, specifically incorporated in telegrams which are transmitted by the transmitter to the receiver at first time intervals. The data to be transmitted by the wheel electronics are divided into at least two telegrams which follow one another at a predetermined second time interval, which is stored in the receiver and differs from the first time intervals. In the receiver, the time intervals lying between the incoming telegrams are detected and such telegrams which follow one another at the second time interval stored for a wheel electronics are assigned as belonging together to this wheel electronics.",
