METHOD FOR SIMULTANEOUSLY REPRESENTING SAFETY CRITICAL AND NON-SAFETY CRITICAL INFORMATION AND DISPLAY DEVICE

A method is specified for the joint display of safety-critical and non-safety-critical information on a display unit of a vehicle, wherein the method comprises receiving non-safety-critical information and generating at least one graphical presentation of the non-safety-critical information. The method further comprises receiving safety-critical information and generating at least one graphical presentation of the safety-critical information. The method further comprises displaying the presentations of safety-critical and non-safety-critical information on the display unit, wherein the display comprises at least two display levels. In the method, the presentation of the non-safety-critical information is displayed on a rear one of the at least two display levels in the viewing direction of the observer, and the presentation of the safety-critical information is displayed on a front display level. In the method, it is checked whether, in the event of at least partial overlay of the presentation of the non-safety-critical information by the presentation of the safety-critical information, the safety-critical information is recognizable.
