Rim (1) for a mountain bike comprising a rim body (2) with a rim bed (3), a rim floor (4) and two lateral rim flanges (5, 6) and a hollow chamber device (7) with a hollow chamber (8). The hollow chamber device (7) of the rim body (2) is limited radially outwardly by the rim bed (3) and laterally and radially inwardly by an inner boundary wall (9) encompassing the rim floor (4) and the rim flanges (5, 6). A width (22) of the rim body (2) is greater than 30 mm. The radially inner boundary wall (9) forms, apart from the nipple receptacles (12), an essentially closed inner wall. The rim bed (3) has a plurality of recesses (10, 11) with an area proportion of at least 10% of an area (13) of the rim bed (3).
