BRAKE SYSTEM

A brake system (5, 5A, 5B) includes an electromagnetic brake device (6) configured to apply a brake to a rotary shaft (8) when current is not applied to the brake system (5) and release the brake on the rotary shaft (8) when current is applied to the brake system (5); and a brake release device (7, 30) configured to forcibly release the brake on the rotary shaft (8) when current is not applied to the brake system (5). The brake release device (7, 30) includes a guide member (20) having a tube shape; a release plate (21) disposed within the guide member (20) and engaged with the armature (13); and a transfer unit (26, 32) that is configured to move the release plate (21) in a direction in which the rotary shaft (8) extends.
